Today would have been Sassy’s 19th month ampuversary.  She has been on my mind a lot lately so much that last night I even was talking about Snickers and called her Sassy.  I guess the reason why is she is getting a work out on her guardian Angel Wings.  I posted about how she protected Snickers & Jazz when they got loose.   We (Dr Boyer & I) have been stumped on a few things with Snickers and we got some test results back.  So I know Sassy will be watching over Snickers.  I will post more on that probably tomorrow as today is about Sassy.

Sassy, baby girl I sure hope you are having fun up there in heaven with all of your friends and all my other babies who crossed before you.  Sure do miss you.

Hugs & lots of love

Mom

All I can say is Sassy was watching over me today.  I was trying to bring Snickers & Jazz in the house before I started working today and they got loose.  I could not find them anywhere.  I walked around screaming their names.  Drove up & down the street yelling out the window.  Stopped at neighbors houses asking if they saw them the whole time bawling & sobbing.    We had so much rain last night with the storms that the creek that runs behind our house (basically a mini grand canyon is what i call it.  It is probably 40 foot deep so its a big drop and FULL from all the rain & moving fast)

I was just so afraid that they fell in or something.  As I was driving back down towards the highway (92).  My neighbor stopped me & said he saw them at the bottom of his driveway.  He tried to calm me down some.  I drove away & towards the highway.  I just happened to be going to turn around where there is a walking path and a bridge and saw Jazz.  Snickers was almost across the bridge.  I threw the car into park & called them.  They both came running.  Thank God.   I know Sassy was watching over us.

Added pictures you can’t see much but this is what it looks like

This has been the longest 9 months.  Today is going to be a day for crying I guess because as I write this I already am.  Boy, it does get easier but big days like these make me really miss her more.  I know she is looking down on me saying “mom, stop crying. I am happy and healthy here.”  So I am trying.

I sure wish she was here sitting on my bed as I worked.  That always was her spot.

So much has changed in 9 months.  Many of our friends who started on this journey around the same time some have crossed the bridge, some are still with us, many new people here.  For those of you who didn’t know Sassy she was a super great dog.  When we started our journey she was 6 years old.  She had OSA in her right rear leg and had her amputation Nov 14, 2012.  We did 4 rounds of Carboplatin and somewhere between the 4th & 5th chemo she developed lung mets.  So she never got to complete the 5th round.  We started metronomics and she survived 7 3/4 months longer we almost made 10 months.  She was about a week shy.  So she got to celebrate her 7th birthday with me in July before going to the Bridge on Aug 20,2014.  You can read about the rest of our journey here on our blog.

I also want to wish Brendol Happy 9 month Angelversary.

I can’t believe that its 9 months since these 2 were born.  Ornery as ever but I love them.  We just finished Intermediate Obedience last Thursday and this week we are starting Advanced.  At the end of the class we are taking the Canine good Citizen test.  Then the next step in this journey will be to find some place to start doing some therapy training.    I know Sassy is guiding them in this.

So in honor of the Girls here are there Graduation pictures

Today would have been Sassy’s 18th month ampuversary.  I can’t honestly believe it would have been that long.  I sure wish we were together celebrating but instead she is having a good time and healthy & happy with all of her friends on the bridge.

So last night we let Bosch sing with his musical toys.  I swear I heard Sassy’s squeaky singing with him like she used too.  I turned around and looked but she wasn’t there.  So I kept loading the dishwasher and I heard it again.  I didn’t say anything to anyone but a few tears slipped down my cheeks.  Just like right now thinking about it.  I miss you my sweet Sugar Bear.  I don’t know if anyone else in the house heard it but I know I did and I know what it meant.

I miss you sweetie.

Love,

Mom

I know this is a couple days late but Sunday was Bosch’s birthday.  I was looking back at this time last year.  Sassy was still here and we were kicking butt even though she had mets.  A big difference & bitter sweet year.  I know she was there celebrating with us.  Although Bosch wouldn’t eat his cupcake we did spend a lot of time outside.  He had a pretty good day.

Here are some pictures and I am going to throw some in of my niece & nephew they got a new swing set & slide 🙂

Today is my Angel Sassy’s 8th month Angelversary.  I can’t believe its been 8 months today.  Celebration of a birthday yesterday & today a celebration of a great Angel.  A lot has changed in the 8 months you have been gone Sassy.  We have Snickers & Jazz to help keep Bosch company as he was lost without you & they have helped heal my heart.  I mean there is a huge hole out of it because you are gone but they have made a difference.

I sure wish you were still here with me.  I know that you were needed there more and have other Angel Warriors & Princess Warriors there too.  I sure hope you have shown Happy Hannah around and the others that have crossed this month.  Love you Sassy.  I hope you & Brendol are great friends since you crossed together.

Miss you Sassy

Love mom

Wow a lot has changed in 8 months.  I can’t believe 8 months ago Sassy was still here and these 2 little ones were just being born on 08/19/13.  I have had them 6 months crazy girls that they are.  We completed beginner obedience training and are going to be in week 3 of intermediate training.  Planning on Therapy dogs maybe with both but definitely with Snickers.  They are definitely getting Canine good Citizen titles on them.   So that is our plan.

Snickers is even becoming a cuddler at night.  She will start out sleeping on the floor but in the middle of the night jump onto the bed and sleep with me.  Sometimes even sticking her head into my arm as I am sleeping.  Jazz has slept with us a few times but tends to get up in the middle of the night and like to chew on my dresser and I think she sleeps better in her crate so that is where she sleeps.

I made a post about Happy Hannah another time and it made Sally so happy.  Today I have to make this post and it rips my heart to pieces.  Hannah crossed the Rainbow Bridge today.  I hate cancer so bad.  We lost one of our biggest cheerleaders today.  I know in my heart that Sassy met Happy Hannah and helped her cross and is showing her the ropes of being an Angel.  Hannah will never ever be forgotten not by me not by any of us.  Sally, I know this is the hardest part of the journey we have and we are all here for you.  Please lean on us and let us help.

Hannah, I know you are listening to all of us.  Please let your mom know you are safe.  We grieve for you and want to help your mom through this part of your journey.  You have left a legacy here.  There will never be another Happy Hannah who loves her treats, deer poop, ice cream, cookies, cupcakes like you did.  Run Free like the wind Hannah.  We all love you.

So I am going to share a few things I loved about Happy Hannah

Today if Sassy were still here & not at the Rainbow Bridge our wonderful community would be helping to celebrate my girls wonderful 17th month Ampuversary.  So I sure hope everyone still celebrates with extra rubbies & treats all around.  I know my crew will get a few treats today in honor of my Princess Warrior.  I know Sally & Hannah will celebrate with chocolate, ice cream & steak 😉

I know that I am kinda silly for still celebrating this or remembering but I am going to keep her alive as many ways I can 🙂  So sharing a few of my favorites.  The 1st picture was when Barney came to us on her 4th ampuversary & there was an orb (I believe it is many others may not)  I have pictures before & after it and that wasn’t there.
